Companion DX Growth And Candidate Scarcity

The companion diagnostics sector will enjoy increased revenue over the next decade. However, its labor force won’t experience sufficient growth to ensure enough qualified personnel.

The widespread reliance on internal recruiters has several drawbacks contributing to this problem.

Specific candidates like geneticists, computational scientists, and molecular pathologists will be needed to meet demand in the companion diagnostics sector. However, internal recruiters often have so many positions to fill that there’s no time to find candidates for these highly specialized positions.

The best candidates are those already working in a company’s desired position. Many times, this means they are working for competitors. Unfortunately, internal recruiters do not contact them. Considering the projected scarcity of qualified candidates, it will be essential to consider another option for finding qualified candidates to work in the companion DX sector.

The over-reliance on internal recruiters can lead to a lack of focus on finding specialized candidates, resulting in missed opportunities to bring in valuable and needed expertise. This can result in a limited pool of candidates and difficulty filling specialized positions. It may be beneficial for companies to consider utilizing other recruiting methods, such as headhunting, or partnering with specialized staffing agencies, to ensure they can find and attract the specialized talent they need.

An external recruiter won’t hesitate to contact a competitor. They’ll also focus on collecting quality candidates instead of finding many available individuals. There is no substitute for an external recruiter for finding medical talent. This infographic from Connexis Search Group reveals more about the benefits of using an external recruiter for your medical talent needs.
