How to Prepare for an In-Person Interview

Over the years, we have observed what hiring managers expect from Candidates during the interview process. Below are some of our recommendations:
Before the Interview
- Research the company before interviewing. Know their products and clients.
- Learn about the company's mission, values, and services.
- Familiarize yourself with the role you are interviewing for and its responsibilities.
- Prepare a list of questions to ask during the interview.
- If you're truly interested, you will have questions about the process, how the product works, etc.
- Review the LinkedIn profiles of the people you'll be interviewing.
- Dress appropriately: wear professional attire that is appropriate for the company culture.
- Plan your transportation and arrive early: Give yourself plenty of time to get to the interview location and reduce stress.
During the Interview
- Understand the role and what your future manager expects from you
- Ask good questions about the company and the role to show your interest and engagement.
- Convey how you can help the person you're speaking to achieve their goals
- Be confident and positive: Smile, make eye contact, and be enthusiastic about the opportunity to interview for the role.
- Give specific examples of accomplishments achieved in the past
- Ask about the interview process and the next steps
- Ask how well you compare to other Candidates
- If interested in the opportunity, ensure the hiring manager understands your desire to join their team. Ask for the job!
