Connexis Search Group annually places over 100 biotechnology, Life Science, and Diagnostics candidates.  We have been in the recruiting business for two decades and have helped over 5000 Candidates find new jobs.

Over the years, we have observed what hiring managers expect from Candidates during the interview process.  Below are some of our recommendations:

Before the Interview

  • Research the company before interviewing. Know their products and clients.
    • Learn about the company's mission, values, and services.
    • Familiarize yourself with the role you are interviewing for and its responsibilities.
  • Prepare a list of questions to ask during the interview.
    • If you're truly interested, you will have questions about the process, how the product works, etc.
  • Review the LinkedIn profiles of the people you'll be interviewing.
  • Dress appropriately: wear professional attire that is appropriate for the company culture.
  • Plan your transportation and arrive early: Give yourself plenty of time to get to the interview location and reduce stress.

During the Interview

  • Understand the role and what your future manager expects from you
  • Ask good questions about the company and the role to show your interest and engagement.
  • Convey how you can help the person you're speaking to achieve their goals
  • Be confident and positive: Smile, make eye contact, and be enthusiastic about the opportunity to interview for the role.
  • Give specific examples of accomplishments achieved in the past
  • Ask about the interview process and the next steps
  • Ask how well you compare to other Candidates
  • If interested in the opportunity, ensure the hiring manager understands your desire to join their team. Ask for the job!
