Connexis Search Group --- 2020 Review
What a crazy year! A pandemic in an election year equals a lot of turmoil in a short period of time.
We offer our condolences to everyone who has lost a loved one or has been negatively impacted by COVID-19. We realize that many people have lost their jobs or businesses due to the pandemic, and our thoughts are with those individuals. We wish you a safe and prosperous New Year.
We are grateful to partner with many diagnostic, life science, and biotechnology companies working to diagnose or treat COVID-19. As you can imagine, the demand for new employees to support these companies drastically increased in 2020.
Revenue
We achieved our highest revenue this year, surpassing all previous years. We are grateful that you trusted our firm to help you grow your team.
Placements
We were fortunate to have been chosen by several fast-growing, venture capital-backed life science companies to assist them with large employee expansions. Our firm has become a well-known resource for companies that are rapidly expanding their sales and technical teams. We employ twenty-plus recruiters and use a team approach to ensure we deliver great candidates quickly.
Hiring Obstacles:
Supply and Demand
Many of our clients are hiring candidates that are in short supply and in high demand. The challenge is how to secure these candidates promptly. We all know that posting these positions on your company website or LinkedIn is ineffective. Using a third-party recruiting firm is an excellent option since they have existing relationships with the candidates you desire to hire.
Candidate Behavior
Candidates are less likely to change jobs in uncertain times, especially if their current employer has not reduced their compensation or benefits during the pandemic. Candidates tend to be loyal to employers that have not overreacted during the pandemic. Employers will need to make their prospective new hires comfortable with the future of their company.
Compensation
Candidates in high-demand positions see a 10-15% increase in base salaries when changing jobs. Some companies provide an estimated 20% to 30% increase in base salaries to attract candidates for critical positions. Employers are also offering signing bonuses to attract candidates.
Here to Help
In 2020 we surveyed our database to learn what changes were being made because of COVID-19. Our objective was to share best practices with our clients.

About Us
As a result of the best year in our company’s history and our growing clientele, we are adding additional recruiters and creating a new structure to accommodate our growth. In a few weeks, we will be announcing our Boston-based office. The demand for candidates in the Boston market remains high, and we have decided to build a Boston-based team to accommodate the need.
