Sales and Technical Sales Expansions

Connexis Search Group has been in business for over twenty years. We want to share some of our successes in helping diagnostics, life science, and medical device companies commercialize. 

We have a long track record of assisting numerous companies in expanding their sales teams.   We have done multiple sales expansions during our twenty years in business, resulting in a proven process.

TriPath Diagnostics

We started working with the CEO, Paul Sohmer, by hiring a Chief Commercial Officer, Vice President of Sales, Vice President of Marketing, and a Vice President of R&D.

Since our firm does both retained and contingency placements, we were excited to help TriPath over five years build-out their organization. We helped TriPath hire more than forty candidates in various departments, such as sales, marketing, manufacturing, and research and development. Since most of the placements we made were capital equipment or physician-oriented sales reps, we work closely with their Vice President of Sales. Becton Dickinson purchased TriPath for $450 M.  

Hemocue

Connexis Search Group worked closely with Hemocue over five years, helping them hire sales and marketing candidates across the United States.   We started working with Hemocue when EQT owned them, a private equity group in northern Europe, and annual revenues were $40 M per year. Hemocue executives struggled to find a buyer and ask us to tap into our diagnostics network for a potential buyer. They had been working with a broker trying to find a buyer with no success. Since we had worked with them for many years, they realized that we had a vast network of connections in the diagnostics space and felt like we could help them find a buyer. We introduced them to a senior Vice-President at Quest Diagnostics that was interested in the point-of-care testing business. Our introduction to Quest resulted in Hemocue being purchase for $400 M.  

Sysmex Diagnostics

We first started working with Sysmex when they decided to build a direct sales force to sell their hematology and urinalysis equipment. They were using Roche Diagnostics as their distributor and decided it was time to create their own sales force. When we first got involved, they had no direct sales reps.   We work closely with their Vice President of Sales and their Vice President of HR in hiring their first US sales team. Today Sysmex is recognized as the market leader in the hematology analyzer marketplace.

CooperVision

Our first assignment with this client was a fifty person sales expansion. We were responsible for sales recruiting and handling logistics such as airfares, hotel rooms, etc. Over three years, we placed over seventy -five sales reps with CooperVision. During this time, their stock enjoyed double-digit growth.

Digene

Connexis Search Group had a long history with this women's health diagnostics company that Qiagen later purchased. We placed sales and marketing candidates with this company for many years before being acquired. Before the acquisition, our last assignment was a fifty person sales force expansion that had to be completed in ninety days.  

Caris Life Sciences

We have been involved in several expansions with Caris Life Sciences over the last two to three years. We recently helped them hire Technical Sales Liaisons, and before this expansion, we assisted them with hiring over thirty sales managers, sales reps, and oncology specialists.

BioTheranostics

Connexis Search Group recently helped this oncology company hire fifteen new sales reps across the US.

We worked closely with the Vice President of Sales and his managers to quickly find sales reps with oncology experience. By having a defined process and excellent communication between the two companies, the reps were hired within sixty days.

IsoPlexis

This company offers single-cell technology that is a valuable tool used by academic, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology researchers. They have been enjoying triple-digit growth over the last few years and, as a result, are drastically expanding their sales force. We are proud to be a recruiting partner for IsoPlexis and will have placed 50 people in the last several years.
