The problem?
Most people send something polite… but forgettable.

Weak version:

“Hi, I enjoyed speaking with you. I’d love to work with you.”

Strong version:

“After our conversation, I spoke with clients about your products. One is unhappy with their current provider — if I join your team, I’d pursue them as my first lead.”

See the difference?
The second one shows you’re proactive, resourceful, and already thinking like part of the team.
